  1. Click the OK button located at the bottom of the screen.
Test the Simple Email Alert

Once the Simple Email Alert has been added, you can test it against a Monitor. If you haven't added a Monitor to the Profile, please refer to the tutorial entitled Add an Alerting Profile for detailed instructions on performing this action.

  1. From the Edit Alert screen, click the Force Test button.
  2. Click OK when prompted to save any changes you may have made to the Alert configuration.
  3. In the Test Alert box, click the radio button corresponding to the Monitor against which you wish to test the Alert. If needed, you can modify the message subject and body of the test email.

  1. Click the Continue button located at the bottom of the Test Alert screen. While ipMonitor attempts to send the Alert to the recipient indicated, the Sending Alert... message will briefly appear on screen.

  1. A success or error message will be displayed depending on the results of the test. If the Simple Email Alert test was successful, the email will have been sent to the specified recipient. Click Close to return to the Edit Alert screen.
