Before You Begin

  2. Extract the contents of the MultiStatusInstall.zip file to the location of your choice on the IIS web server machine.

Note: Admin permissions are required to properly use the Multi-Status View application and IIS together.

Add an ipMonitor Server

Before the ipMonitor Multi-Status View application can be used to create XML configuration files and the resulting ASPX web pages, you must provide the location and login information of at least one ipMonitor installation.

The first time you run the ipMonitor Multi-Status View application, it will open to the ipMonitor SOAP Servers screen. Follow the instructions outlined below to add an ipMonitor server to your configuration:

  1. Click the Add Server button to launch the Add ipMonitor SOAP Server window.

  1. Enter the Hostname, IP Address or FQDN of your ipMonitor server.
  2. Enter the ipMonitor Server TCP Port. To configure the connection to use SSL, check the Use SSL checkbox.

Note: In order to properly use SSL, the SSL Certificate must be installed on the system and the Server Name entered must match the Common Name on the Certificate. The Common Name can be found in the Communications: SSL section or Secure Socket Layer Certificate section of the ipMonitor Configuration Program located on the ipMonitor host machine.
  3. Enter the ipMonitor Username of the Account being used. For security reasons, we recommend only using Guest accounts to access an ipMonitor installation.
  4. Enter the ipMonitor Password of the Account being used. Please note that the Username and Password are both case sensitive and must be typed in accordingly.
  5. Click the Add Server button to save your settings. If the ipMonitor Multi-Status View utility encounters an error in your configuration and is unable to log in to the server, an error message will be displayed and you'll be prompted to revise your settings. Otherwise, the newly added server will be displayed in the ipMonitor SOAP Servers screen.

Note: You can choose not to view specific Monitors in the resulting ASPX page. To do so, simply remove the checkmark beside the Monitor name.
  2. When you've finished selecting Groups and Monitors, click the Next button.
