Using the Monitor Filter

ipMonitor's powerful Filter feature speeds up the process of administrating a large number of Monitors. By selecting only the Monitors matching a certain criteria, you can quickly identify and isolate the Monitors you need rather than having to page through hundreds of Monitor listings.

Once you have a list resulting from your Filter query, you can use Monitor functions to manage the selection set and quickly delete, disable, enable, or suspend the selected Monitors. You can also add the entire selection to a Group or remove it from one.

Example

How to make a filter showing all Monitors that are currently Down:

  1. Click the Monitors option on the menu bar, then click Manage Filters.
  2. Create a new filter by clicking the Add a Filter button.
  3. From the Filter Initialization section, select Start with no Monitors.
  4. Under the Filter Action Sequence section, click the Add Action button.
  5. Select Add from Global Group, by Status.
  6. Under Status, select Down.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Click OK again to perform the filter query.
  3. Place a checkmark in the checkbox beside the newly created filter, then click the Load Filter menu option.
