ipMonitor's Credential Manager not only strengthens security, allowing the use of elevated privileges only when required, but also provides an effective time saving management technique.
Many actions within ipMonitor, such as monitoring, alerting, recovery, maintenance, and network control, require an account and password. In most corporate environments, passwords expire at regular intervals, and selecting to use passwords with an infinite duration is often considered less secure. However, because your password is specified only in the Credentials Manager, and not in every configured item, network credentials are quick and easy to change in ipMonitor.
When updating your NT account password, for instance, many Monitors may be impacted by the change. Instead of having to update the password in every applicable circumstance, you only have to change it once, in the Credentials Manager tool. Any Monitor dependent upon that Credential will recognize and apply the change.

The Credentials Manager can be configured to impersonate NT accounts with elevated permissions for Monitors and Alerts that require network or file access. The criteria for reusing a single NT account could be based on any number of factors. You may choose to use a specific NT account based on:
Or you may simply choose to use a specific NT account to provide the account context for performing remote administrative management of servers and services.
