The "ipMonitor Server Name" uniquely identifies your ipMonitor 7 installation. This instance designation will be displayed in both Historic and Email Reports, and can be included in Alerts by inserting the appropriate Token (%instancename%) while configuring the Alert in Edit Mode.

To give your ipMonitor 7 installation a unique instance designation:
Note: The Settings / Server Settings menu option is visible only to Administrators or users who have READ + WRITE permissions for Server Settings.
Once you've assigned an ipMonitor Server Name to an ipMonitor 7 installation, any future Reports generated will display this instance designation - Reports are not changed retroactively.

We recommend that you give each ipMonitor installation a unique instance designation by assigning it a Server Name for easy identification when you receive a Report or Alert. This is especially useful if you've assigned more than one ipMonitor 7 installation to monitor the same resource.
