Using Multiple Sessions to Enhance Your Productivity
ipMonitor supports the ability to launch multiple sessions. Enhance your productivity by quickly and efficiently switching between viewing Real-time Status Reports in a separate window and continuing to configure ipMonitor in the Administration Interface.
You can keep more than one session open in order to:
- Perform different actions in different sessions, thus effectively working on more than one task at once.
- View Real-time Statistics while configuring the software. The Group Status screen in the additional session immediately updates with any configuration changes upon the next refresh.
Note: Launching a new session copies your current session, so your existent settings will be duplicated. However, changing your settings in one session will not affect the settings in the original session. For example, if you'd like to expand the resolution in one session to view more data on the Real-time Status screen, the resolution in other sessions won't be affected.
There are a number of ways to start a new session:
- The Quick Links menu option provides two selections for starting a new session: New Stats Session and New Config Session.
- The Side Pane Menu provides the ability to start a new session in either the Administration or the Reporting interface.
- Click on a Monitor in the NOC or Details View in the Group Status screen to start a new session and jump directly to the specific monitor configuration screen.
- Internet Explorer and Opera users can press Control-N from anywhere within the software to launch a new session.
