How can I Monitor a Server on a Non-Standard Port?
ipMonitor can be used to monitor a server on a non-standard port in the following situations:
- If the server uses the HTTP protocol and a basic test for availability is needed, an HTML/ASP Monitor should be created. Leave the Search String text field empty.
- If the server does not use a known protocol, a TELNET Monitor should be created. This Monitor will attempt to make a connection to the port and IP given, and goes no further than that. This will not work if a connectionless protocol is in operation on the port and IP.
