What are the System Requirements for ipMonitor 8?
The following recommendations are based on a typical mix of lightweight and QA Monitors. More RAM and/or faster processor may be required depending on variables such as the monitoring mix, polling intervals, etc.
Computer

Web Browsers
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.5 and up
- Netscape® 7.1 and up
- Opera™ 7.2 and up
- Mozilla™ 1.4 and up
- Mozilla™ Firebird 0.6+ and Firefox 0.8 and up
RAM
- 256 Megs for 500 Monitors is recommended when a typical mix of lightweight and QA Monitors are configured. More RAM may be required, depending on the monitoring mix, polling intervals, etc.
- 512 Meg for 1500 Monitors is recommended when a typical mix of lightweight and QA Monitors are configured. More RAM may be required, depending on the monitoring mix, polling intervals, etc.
Modem & Telephone Line (optional)
- SMS using TAP, SMS using UCP, SMS using GSM and Simple Beeper Alerts require a dedicated telephone line or a telephone system that is always able to free up an outbound telephone line on demand.
- SMS using TAP, SMS using UCP, SMS using GSM and Simple Beeper Alerts require a traditional 1200+ baud Hardware Modem (Internal or external modem that has jumpers and/or switches to set the modem address, interrupt and speed). Software-based modems such as a Winmodem will not work with ipMonitor.

- Self-Signed Certificates
- Certificates issued by trusted certificate providers such as FreeSSL™, InstantSSL™ or VeriSign®
- Microsoft® Windows® Certificate Services
MDAC Version 2.6 SP2+ (optional)
- MDAC Version 2.6 SP2+ is required for ipMonitor's ADO Monitor and ADO QA Monitor.
