How do I Allow ipMonitor Access to Monitor a Sybase SQL Server Database?
The ADO (SQL Connect) and ADO - QA (SQL Query) Monitors require that you have the correct OLE DB Provider installed on the ipMonitor host computer to provide access to the database type you wish to use.
To access a Sybase SQL Server Database, you will need to download and install the Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise Client Component, available from Sybase Corporation at http://www.sybase.com/.
IMPORTANT! You'll require the following information before you begin:

- Download the Sybase SQL Server Provider to the ipMonitor host machine.
- Run the setup.exe file to install the Client.
- Click Next to begin the installation process.
- Read and accept the End User License Agreement, and then click Next.
- Choose the directory where you would like to install the provider, and then click Next.
- Choose the Full Install option, and then click Next.
- Click Next a second time to confirm your choices.
- Click Finish to complete the installation process.
Step 2: Configure the OLE DB connection
- Run the Sybase ASE OLE DB Configuration Manager by clicking Start, All Programs, Sybase, OLE DB Provider, and then Configuration Manager.
- Click the New Data Source button.

- Enter the Data Source Name of the Database you want to monitor.
- Click the Set Up Data Source button.
- Enter a basic Description, the Server Name, Network Protocol and Server Port that will be used to access the Database.

- Click the Test Connect button.
- Enter the User Name and Password used to access the Database, and then click Connect.
