How does the SNMP - QA Monitor Work?
The above diagram shows that the SNMP - QA Monitor detects changes in various power management elements by:
- Polling a SNMP daemon, Service or device at regular intervals for a Numeric or Textual value.
- Retrieving the value from the SNMP daemon.
- Testing the retrieved value against the rules you define.
The SNMP - QA Monitor is able to evaluate the following SNMP data-type values:
- INTEGER (up to 64-bit)
- OBJECT IDENTIFIER
- IPADDRESS
- GAUGE
- TIMETICKS
- NULL
