How do I Upgrade my ipMonitor 7.x Installation to ipMonitor 8.0?
ipMonitor Version 8.0 was released on July 19, 2006. If you already own ipMonitor 7.0 or ipMonitor 7.5, you can upgrade your existing installation to version 8.0 without negatively impacting your current settings. The new version is fully compatible with previous versions of ipMonitor 7.
To install the new version of ipMonitor:
- Log in to the Support Portal located at https://support.ipmonitor.com/ using your existing account and password information.
- Click the Downloads & Resources link.
- Download the newest version of ipMonitor by clicking the download link located in the first section of the page.
- Save the ipm8setup_xxxx.exe file to the ipMonitor host machine.
- Double-click ipm8setup_xxxx.exe to begin the update process.
- The ipMonitor Licensing Helper will prompt you to upgrade your current License. This process requires you to Park your License on the ipMonitor Support Portal, and then re-license your installation. Click Start to begin.

- Once your License is successfully parked, you'll be prompted to continue the ipMonitor 8.0 installation.
- At the end of the installation process, you'll be able to re-license your installation.

- Once your installation has been re-licensed, click the Finish button to launch the ipMonitor Configuration Program.
- The ipMonitor Configuration Program will launch in "First Run" mode. All the settings configured for your previous installation (such as the Windows Account that the ipMonitor Service will run under and the HTTP/HTTPS IP Address and Port combination ipMonitor will listen on) will be selected by default.
- Click the Finish button to complete the upgrade process.
