How do I Define the Mailhost?

By default, ipMonitor sends e-mail directly to the recipient's mail server. To change this behavior:

  1. Log in to ipMonitor's Administration web interface.
  2. Click the Settings menu option, then select Server Settings.
  3. From the Edit Server Settings screen, enter the IP address of your mail server in the SMTP relay server field.
  4. Click OK to save your settings.

Note: From this moment on, all email sent from ipMonitor will route through this SMTP server. However, if this override server goes down for any reason, ipMonitor will automatically revert to delivering email directly to the recipient's SMTP server. This helps ensure email is delivered to the intended recipient.
