Yes. You can configure ipMonitor to send Alerts to numeric or alphanumeric pagers, as well as to cellular phones, through the use of the following Alert Types:
- Simple Beeper Alert
The Simple Beeper Alert sends a numeric message to a simple numeric pager. Messages can only be made up of numbers and spaces.
- SMS Numeric Pager: TAP Alert
The SMS Numeric Pager: TAP Alert sends a numeric message to a device capable of receiving an SMS TAP message. Messages can only be made up of numbers, spaces, and depending on your device model and wireless provider, a few punctuation characters. Most devices will only accept simple punctuation (ie: dashes, commas, periods); accented characters and other special symbols will not display properly.
- SMS Numeric Pager: UCP Alert
The SMS Numeric Pager: UCP Alert sends a numeric message to a device capable of receiving an SMS UCP message. Messages can only be made up of numbers, spaces, and depending on your device model and wireless provider, a few punctuation characters. Most devices will only accept simple punctuation (ie: dashes, commas, periods); accented characters and other special symbols will not display properly.
- SMS Text Pager: TAP Alert
The SMS Text Pager: TAP Alert sends a text message to an alphanumeric pager or digital phone with SMS/TAP support.
- SMS Text Pager: UCP Alert
The SMS Text Pager: UCP Alert sends a text message to a device with SMS/UCP support.
Note: The Alerts listed above require the following hardware to be installed on the ipMonitor Host computer:
- A COM Port for your modem.
- A Hayes-compatible modem or a Winmodem 2400 baud or faster.
- A telephone line that will not be used by any other device when ipMonitor needs to page administrators.
- SMS Text Pager: GSM Alert
The SMS Text Pager: GSM Alert sends a text message to a device with SMS/GSM support.
Note: This Alert requires the following resources:
- A GSM Mobile network subscription.
- A COM Port for your modem.
- A Hayes-compatible GSM/GPRS Modem capable of supporting AT commands.
